Salamander Street is an independent publisher founded in Leith in 2019 by George Spender, who was previously Editorial Director of the specialist theatre publisher Oberon Books, and also worked at the Edinburgh International Festival. Now based in Bristol, and run by staff with nearly two decades’ worth of experience in theatre publishing, Salamander Street continues to maintain its Scottish roots through its commitment to classic Scottish theatre, and its mission to publish lost Scottish plays that may have gone out of print or were never published.

Salamander Street have recently commissioned an oral history of legendary venue The Arches in Glasgow, by novelist Kirstin Innes (Scabby Queen, Fourth Estate) due for publication in August 2021.
